Why book with me?

 

Having literally taken thousands of adolescent students to the battlefields over the past 28 years I have often been asked whether I would consider taking adults, usually by their parents or by friends and relatives. As a result, over the last few years I have done so, taking couples and small groups and have enjoyed sharing my knowledge, experience and, most importantly, passion for my subject and to pay homage to those who paid the ultimate price.

 

My tours, therefore, are ostensibly about people, their experiences and their courage in the face of immense adversity. In this way I seek to contextualize the conflicts, rather than provide a series of lectures which could have been done in the classroom!

 

As I begin a 'staged' retirement from teaching I am now available to take tours most weekends, leaving on Thursday or Friday and returning on Sunday evening. I am, of course, available for longer tours during school holidays, especially since my two children are at university and my long-suffering wife has a proper full-time job!
